Grapes are Going Out of Style!

At least it appears that way in our house for that's the way my family eats them. I can buy a bunch of grapes (and a large bunch at that) and they are gone within an hour or two. But boy, oh boy, they do make such a wonderful snack. They are sweet so they curb my sweet tooth's natural tendancies towards refined sugar and they come ready to eat. No microwaving required. (or peeling, or chopping or anything else that would inhibit my motivation for healthy eating)

And speaking of healthy eating, I drank more of that green tea stuff today. It really is not all that bad. Maybe my body is craving it, I don't know, but I find myself making a second cup soon after I have had my first. I beg of you...please don't get any silly notions of me though. I am NOT giving up my PG Tips nor my Chai Spice...nor any other perfectly fine cup of caffinated deliciousness. Nor am I going to flood my body with every kind of green tea imaginable. BUT, I think I will continue to drink this tea. In one day it seems to be helping. (well...as much as I can tell after one day, which is not much)

Yes. It could be that...or it could be the fact that I am adopting a new method. I got the idea from flylady. She claims, "You can do anything for 15 minutes". So, I put this into practice today. I set my timer for 15 minutes and I cleaned. Then, when the timer went off, I was released from duty and I sat down. While sitting I wrote emails, checked my forum, wrote part of a chapter of the Bible, wrote part of this post or other things that involved sitting. (yes...crochet DOES count and I did that too)

Funny thing is, I actually had the energy to do this. It wasn't so bad. If I tried to go for longer than 15 minutes though, I could feel it in my body that I needed to sit down. Can you believe I am that run down? I am that tired? Not today though. I felt better today. Maybe its the tea. Maybe its all your prayers for me. Maybe...just maybe I won't have to go to the dr about this.

Okay. So maybe that's just dreaming. I know I need to go. This is something that has been happening for over 2 years now and it just keeps getting worse. The past month it has gotten unbearable so, I better get to that dr.

Anyways, I have more work to do...for we are having company over tonight to watch the baseball game. GO YANKEES!!! Even though they lost last night we still have faith. We believe in our team!!! Maybe later I will show you something (or somethings) I recieved in the mail yesterday that has me drooling all over myself again.

Have a great day everyone!

Its Not so Bad

There are certain things in my life that I avoid at all costs. Well, maybe "all costs" is too broad or too harsh of a statement so I will change it to...ummm..."alot of costs". There are certain things in my life that I avoid at alot of costs. One of those things happens to be green tea or herbal tea. I have one word for such things.

Why?

I mean, if you are going to drink tea, you might as well go all out and get the good, black stuff loaded with caffine, right? I do enjoy to taste my tea while I drink it...and green tea tastes like raw spinach mixed with cottage cheese and mosquito poop. (as if I have ever ate that...but you get the idea as to my level of desire to drink this stuff)

Well, desperate times call for desperate measures. (to include drinking green tea) Let me explain. I have been "ill" lately. Not ill as the normal thought processes would consider ill. No, but I have been extremely tired. So tired, in fact, that I am finding it hard to do my normal routines throughout the day. You know the kind of tired where you feel like your chest is caving in on your lungs? And your whole body is about to fall apart? Yes. That's the kind of tired I feel like. (even after 9-10 hours of sleep and sometimes a couple hours of naps during the day)

Something is definately wrong, but what? I don't know. We will be going to the dr soon to find out. But while I was shopping for food today, I noticed this green tea with a great big word right on the front. A word I could not ignore. ENERGY. And then I thought, "but its GREEN!!!" Like I said, desperate times call for desperate measure. It can't hurt me, right? Its healthy, right?

And now, I am drinking my second cup of the day and WOW! Its not bad. Its no PG Tips, mind you...but its not bad. I can actually drink this. And the funny thing is, I actually....kind of....sort of....ummm...(can't believe I am admitting this) I LIKE IT. Yup. I might actually CHOOSE this tea sometimes.

Now I am warning you, I have linked to this kind of tea so you can see what it is I am talking about. BUT, the website is actually a little bit "hokey". I do NOT condone the website. (I am not into all that "new age-y" type of stuff...yoga and mediatation and stuff) But I can drink this tea. Its not so bad... not so bad at all. And maybe, just maybe, the ginseng in it will help my energy levels (or memory cells) so I won't forget the laundry in the washer this week. I'll keep you posted.

I'm Having a Party!!!

Complete with PG Tips tea and chocolate cake. (what would a party be without those???) I even have some music for this party. (go ahead and listen. Your feet will be tapping while you read the rest of this post)

Celebration

So, now it remains to be told what I am celebrating. Well, it goes something like this...

I'M PUBLISHED!!!!!!

Okay, so its not that big of a deal really...but, oh me oh my, I am excited. Its a step. Just one step up the ladder of success. (at least I hope that's the ladder I am climbing) I submitted a couple of designs last fall to the 2008 Crochet Pattern a Day calendar and wouldn't you know it? but they accepted them. (I do notice from some of their designs that they accept pretty much anything though)

So, what's next? Well, you will have to stay tuned to find out. But I have BIG dreams. BIG ones. Ones that are super big! (hang on...gotta go re-start my song. Okay. My feet are tapping and I can type in time to funky music again)

Anwyas, I haven't posted here in a few days because, quite frankly, I have been pretty busy. You know, its October already. YUP! That means time for a website update. Like it? I added some photos to the testers gallery. Its not complete yet but hey...better than a page space holder (which apparantly google search engines don't like)

I also added some pre-made crocheted items to my Boutiques (because those were just space holders too). Check out my Le Bebe Nursery and Le Femme Courture for some great gift ideas. (its kind of hard to move the mouse about while listening to this song...the mouse wants to be-bop with my body instead of clicking on the teeny tiny buttons...Oh well...at least I'm grooving)

And this update means I have new patterns. Yay! You all get to see something NEW. (hang on...re-starting song again)

Because I liked my Summer meadows dress so much I decided I couldn't stop. So, I made a matching cape and hat. Isn't that hat just the cutest? (I can say that about my own design because this song has me on cloud nine and I can't really be responsible for what I type while in "the groove") I used size 10 thread for the cape and size 30 vintage thread for the flowers. The thread was sent to me as an RAOK from some delightful person over at the ville last summer. How sweet is that?

Then I decided I need more free patterns on the site to generate traffic. So, I designed this scrumptious set. (hitting restart again)

I splurged and bought 3 skeins of Moda Dea Metro for this cape. I don't usually buy yarn like this...I much prefer thread or small yarn but as I was petting it in the store, it just sort of "jumped" into my buggy. Oh well. It makes for a warm cape for Chloe. I am calling it Scrumptiously Sweet Cape Ensemble and I have it in baby, toddler and children sizes. You can find it for free on my site. Go ahead. Make a couple. You know you want to.

Okay. And what update is complete without a purse?

While on the "coordinating" kick this past round, I decided my stole needed a companion. What do I get? This fun little purse. Its different, that's for sure. I call it Elegant Lattice Purse. (because what else could you call it?

Ahhh...there's more but they will have to finish with testing before I can show you. Speaking of testing, I have revamped our testing procedures. Now patterns will be released for testing as I finish them intead of waiting for a "round". (now the song is getting on my nerves so I think I will forgo playing it again...maybe a different one now? Oh yah...gotta love the 80's!)

I also ordered some neccesities. First (and most fun) is the Crochet Stitch Bible I ordered myself. I can't wait to get that...oh its going to be fun to play. (because you know...girls just wanna have fun, right?) And on a not so fun note, but equally important (if not more importan) I also ordered some business cards for myself. I'll have to show you those when they come in because I am too lazy right now to go convert my image to jpeg from psd...so you will just have to be patient.

Anyways, I am off now to crochet. I am going to relax with my delicious tea and cake, maybe put on some other funky music and celebrate my first 3 published patterns.

Have a party, ya'll!!! Find something in your life to be thankful for and just CELEBRATE!!!
